Episode 5: Earthworks By Mila

Earthworks by Mila

Mila got me rethinking just about ALL of my plant pots.

The first weekend we moved into our Hawaii house I dropped triple digits on plants. I don’t know what it moved me to do it … maybe its Hawaii? Maybe just the idea of being in a HOUSE after hotel living for 6 weeks, #whoknows.

Six months later most of those plants are DEAD. And Mila nailed it – and without seeing any of my plants! They were all in pots that killed them! Oh and the wind… I the wind killed the plants on the lanai.

Earthworks by Mila was created out of the soul of passions, people said it was going to be hard to start a business from plants and/or pottery so I did it anyway, while getting married, pursuing self-growth, and now working a full-time job.

Earthworks By Mila is Aina Based, 95% of everything is sourced locally. As a new business, she was already turning a profit within three months, having completely paid back her initial investment!

You can find Mila at the Lokahi Market in Kailua on Sunday mornings!

Hi! I’m Alison, your chaos coordinator, toddler briber, and parent commiserator. Oh! And Oahu family photographer!

As the ringleader of my own 4-boy circus, I know how hard getting family photos can be.

I run my photo session like a party. I give you something TO DO so you don’t feel awkward wondering, “Where do I put my HANDS?!”

Dad is playing with the kids, everyone forgets what’s ACTUALLY happening, and you look amazing bc you’re actually enjoying yourself. #whoknewphotoscouldbefun

Fast. Fun. Done.
