I intended to have this posted on time but our vacation in Charleston, SC was quite busy. I grew up in Charleston so we were visiting lots of family we hadn’t seen since Christmas, and one of my best friends got married! We took Jack to the beach for the first time ever, and Owen’s first time since he was four months old, so it might as well have been his first time. They LOVED it! Three of us also got sick with a 24 hour stomach bug. We rarely get sick like that so it was quite a shock and very unpleasant. I’ll spare you the visuals.
Living in Birmingham is my first time away from the coast. Our previous duty station was actually closer to the ocean than where I grew up, with super cheap shrimp right off the boat. We actually ‘imported’ shrimp to Charleston a few times because it was so inexpensive. I miss the salty air, ocean breeze, plough mud and oak trees. I think I miss the oaks the most. The Lowcountry landscape is just beautiful (as you’ll see below). I’m looking forward to being there permanently again.
I do this monthly project with a circle of talented photographers all over the world, so check out Kylie Dunlop Photography in Sydney, Australia. One of my Marine Corps friends also joined the circle this month so look out for Holly Bullock too!
Those lashes! I gush inside whenever I see him look down like this. I have no idea where those came from, certainly not me.
First time drinking from the hose.
I had to include this. He was exactly 8 weeks old when I took it. Check out how much he’s grown since May
His first time wearing headphones! He had no idea what to think.
We took the boys to play in this fountain downtown, something I used to do when I was little! Which is why we determined to do it the last day despite non stop drizzle and sudden down pour of rain. It turned into ridiculousness, but we did it!
Now check out Kylie Dunlop Photography in Sydney, Australia.
