My Own Family Session…Last One in Okinawa

BellFamily 74 by Alison Bell, Photographer

The thing about being a photog is that I know how I want MY photos to look, from the weather during the session to the colors that hang on my wall. Kinda makes me a nightmare client.

With our PCS out of Okinawa imminent I knew what I wanted.

I even had my dress purchased months before booking. I knew what month I wanted, location, time, and even the shot list.

It took months before I had the guts to ask Heather Johnson Photography if she’d be willing to work with me. I gave her all the outs because I knew what I was asking.

But SHE SAID YES!

I had bought all the boys’ shirts at H&M in December. Then I changed my mind. I didn’t want them in tees, I wanted my boys in Southern attire complete with belts and Rainbows. I mean, my dress was a little *too* fancy to go with t-shirts!

It just so happens the week I changed my mind was Golden Week in Japan. Akin to the week before Christmas stateside. What was I thinking! I went Rycom Mall twice with my boys in tow! Shoot me dead.

But it was so worth it. You can see all my preparations on Instagram. Complete with video and pro tips of the before!
