Large family session with cousins and grandparents in South Carolina!
We got all the kids, grandkids and grandparents together for this big ol’ extended family session. I didn’t realize until after that Kelly is moving to I-d-a-h-o, like, now. Whhhhat? That’s so far away!
I get pretty nervous photographing friends… but these guys are special. Bec was in my wedding and one of two special people that convinced me to date my husband. #keepingthemforever #shoutouttoash
They also have a boy fam! I have four boys, and baby boy 3 is coming THIS month!! (That reminds me I have some hand-me-downs to pass on…)
I grew up just outside of Charleston, SC, frequenting Summerville, annnnnnd have a history buff for a mother. But I had never been to Colonial Dorchester State Park aka Old Fort Dorchester.
Mrs. Lisa suggested it and I’m so glad she did! There’s old architecture, canons, palmettos, Spanish moss, the Ashley River and live oaks.
Side note: Why do we specify ‘live’ oaks now, as if the description of its status is its name? I know we revere oaks in the Lowcountry but… Whose spouting about dead ones??
The park also has a closing time at 5p. We may or may not have been ushered out with multiple closing warnings, so we did not make it to the water. oops.
Every Extended Family Session includes
- Each Nuclear family shots
- Cousins
- Adult kids
- Spouses
- Grandparents
- The whole fam
- Candids as time allows!
Our only limit is time and light. We work together to create a prioritized list of shots and work our way through the whole thing. I’ve never had an extended session not get all the shots in 45-60 minutes!
I'm a USMC spouse, South Carolina native, recovering homeschool mama of a 4 boy circus. They've taught me the most important facet of family photography: KEEP IT FUN!
