Army promotion corona style!
I love military ceremonies. I love the formalities the military brings to a casual world. I love the Birthday Ball, pinnings/promotions, re-enlistments, retirements and graduations!
“Are you available later today to do some photos?”
“Let me check my schedule… um yes I’m completely free!”
< Insert giddy dance!!! >
Most people don’t care to higher a photog for such a simple event. I totally get it, we didn’t do it either.
I regret it!!! We had a skilled hobbiest help us, but he wasn’t able to do what I would have… or tell me to take off the awful rain jacket that looked awful with my dress! C’est la vie.
Normally there’s a crowd. Friends, family, Marines, (Soldiers this case!), followed by a party funded by the new pay raise!
This time, there was:
- Immediate family
- Promoting Officer
- 1 Friend/neighbor
- 1 Photographer (me!)
- No party
But how cool is technology that they live streamed it to friends and family everywhere!?
Promotions are a BIG deal. I LOVE that my job gets me invited to a bunch of them. Even better when we’re friends.
This 20 minute ceremony has a final gallery of about 60 images. Sounds ridiculous, but I promise you they’re going to have a hard time deciding their top 3 images that come with the package. Just check out these 20ish of MY favorites:
I'm a USMC spouse, South Carolina native, recovering homeschool mama of a 4 boy circus. They've taught me the most important facet of family photography: KEEP IT FUN!
