Why You Should Do Beach Family Photos with Little Kids
The beach is hands down my favorite place to photograph kids! Beach family photos with little kids is the easiest, more fun way to do photos in Oahu!
There’s room to run and be free. Little kids don’t need to be quiet or stay in a small box. They can truly be themselves which makes for the best photos!
The beach is an ideal location for capturing beautiful and memorable photos with kids. The natural scenery of the beach provides a stunning backdrop for photos, with its picturesque coastline, crystal-clear water, and bright blue skies that beg to be photographed in Hawaii!
The beach also offers plenty of space and natural light, which makes it easy to take great photos with kids. The sand and waves provide endless opportunities for fun and playful photoshoots, while the calm and serene atmosphere can create beautiful, peaceful moments.
With its natural beauty and versatility, the beach is a great place to capture family photos with little kids

Another photographer asked, “What’s inspiring you right now?” I have to say this island. The vibrant blues, the golden rims of light against a pink sunset. Clients willing to get IN the water -scroll to the bottom for some of that!
Is it just me, or don’t we all have those families we flew in on the Patriot with that we see time to time? You run into them at the PX, the post office, the commissary, shoot even on Facebook. You say hi (if you don’t you should!) because you shared a searing experience. You’re bonded!
What You Wear Matters
I tried to avoid it for years. But the fact is it matters.
It may not make or break the anything, but planning out the details of undergarments, colors and movement will go a long way to a great experience and even better photos!
Get every tip, trick, and clothing idea I have from 12 years experience all in one place.
Hi! I’m Alison, your chaos coordinator, toddler briber, and parent commiserator. Oh! And Oahu family photographer!
As the ringleader of my own 4-boy circus, I know how hard getting family photos can be.
I run my photo session like a party. I give you something TO DO so you don’t feel awkward wondering, “Where do I put my HANDS?!”
Dad is playing with the kids, everyone forgets what’s ACTUALLY happening, and you look amazing bc you’re actually enjoying yourself. #whoknewphotoscouldbefun
Fast. Fun. Done.
(On a side note have you ever considered the unaccompanied service members on those flights?? I’m betting they get put between all the family groups in odd places with no respite. Bless them.)
This family is one of those families for me! That was three years ago and little dude was much smaller, about six months old. We all lived in the Westpac TLF at the same time and bought similar cars!
Dani is also a photographer which made it all the more a privilege to photograph their family before they PCS next fall. She’s also got some serious cake skills!
Can I rave about little miss’s dress? Its the cutest stinkin thing I’ve seen in a long time! Just a miniature dress I’d buy for myself.
Also, this session goes on my record for most reschedules. Initially we were set for MARCH. It finally happened mid May. We can’t even count the times we said “Ok next Wednesday or Thursday if the weather works” only for the weather never to work. Or for soccer to never end. Or for swim lessons to start. Or sitters not be available. Or the forecast to change from rain to sun without us knowing. Praise y’all for your perseverance!! I want to give you a trophy!

Why You Should do Beach Family Photos with Little Kids
The beach is an excellent place for little kids to explore and have fun. With the sand and water, children can build sandcastles, dig holes, collect seashells, and play games. The beach also provides opportunities for kids to learn about marine life by observing crabs, fish, and other creatures in the water. The open space and fresh air make it an ideal location for children to run around and burn off energy. Additionally, spending time at the beach can improve children’s physical health and mental wellbeing. Overall, the beach is a great place for little kids to have fun and learn new things in a safe and engaging environment.
I'm a USMC spouse, South Carolina native, recovering homeschool mama of a 4 boy circus. They've taught me the most important facet of family photography: KEEP IT FUN!
