No regrets! I got my friend, Melissa Arlena, to do our lifestyle family photos before we moved from Quantico to Virginia Beach.
A good photographer is hard to find, and by the grace of God, Melissa found me!
For real, we were shooting in the same park (which is not her usual MO). I’m normally the one approaching other photogs to introduce myself, but she beat me to it!
We chatted in the parking lot until it was dark (not hard shooting at sunset..)
What I love about her style is how bright and airy she makes every room look. It’s skill. Our house could get really dark, especially in the winter.
She’s worked with darker BASEMENTS and made them look sunny. .
One of my few regrets is not having natural at-home images, with me IN THEM, from every duty station. Our bunker in Okinawa was just dark and … well a bunker. Solid concrete multiplex with no windows on two sides of the unit. #safeintyphoonstho
So we put an end to that.
We were in Quantico for 10 months but we’ll remember its quirks forever!
