We always want dry, perfectly sunny days for our photo session. But what happens if your scheduled day turns out to be cloudy, dark, and rainy?
Let me tell you that cloudy is better! Last weekend it was purely overcast, damp and misty all day. I remember only one crack in the clouds specifically at the time we decided not to reschedule the session! The ground was moist and cold but not truly wet – just enough to sit on. It was a little dark for that time of day. It. was. dreary.
But! Clouds are our friends when it comes to our photo sessions! The light is even, soft and there are no harsh shadows! We got to use full range of a location I’ve been eyeing (and never used before) simply because we didn’t have to worry about the direction of the light.
So if you haven’t booked your Christmas photo session yet because you think its just too late to get anything good, or pretty, think again! It is not too late and quick turn around is available on request.
Still worried about a cloudy session? Just check out these two sessions from that dark weekend -
