High tide at Toguchi was beautiful! Enough so we had a group of paddle boarders drift through our frame.

Three-peat clients are rare for our PCS lifestyle. I can count on one hand then number of three-peats I’ve had in my entire 8 years photographing families (not including friends of course). But it happens! And these guys are one of them.

I photographed Baby R’s first days home and his six months miles stones. This July we got together again to mark his one year birthday and Mom & Dad’s 10th anniversary.

We had big plans with some great balloons, but the 0 flew away before we ever started.  oops!

I missed the bulk of PCS-ing families this year being off island for 6 weeks. Okinawa just begs to be photographed. And families want evidence of their time here. Last year, one client hadn’t had a family session in 9 years… and they had a 5 year old. Think about that. Nothing like a PCS deadline to get a session on the calendar.

This family is no different. They’ve been here for six years and had their first baby. They wanted something Okinawan but not beach. Katuren castle is my go-to castle. You’ll see why!

Did you know I don’t charge a fee for additional people?? Weather their your own gaggle of kiddies or extended aunts, uncles, and cousins, the only limit is time and light.

Okinawa is so very far away its a treasure when family comes. We moved here planning not to travel back to the states for three years. But I changed my mind after 2 1/2 years and two deployments in 5 months. C’est la vie.

These guys were super fun. Three boys and we’re all from the same town in SC! We ended chatting about shrimp and grits and bacon grease. #yaasss

This fam was a joy to work with. JOY. They relaxed and forgot I was there, just how I like it. Kids are always good at cutting the awkward, but these two were particularly good! Did you see my video on Instagram of the little one shaking is bum?? Go see!

This location at the Gala is a favorite for everyone but we were surprised (and I’m sure the other togs were too!) when we were kicked out! The lady was quite nice giving us a heads up that they were closing, but we thought we could just walk around the gate so we brushed it off.

NOPE. There’s no walk around for it. She stood waiting, staring at us and the other folks mid-session.

Also, the Torii itself is roped off, so there was no getting close to it. Thankfully we were a short drive to another beach.

I hope this isn’t my last session there.
